Lemon Basil Pasta Salad
For some reason everyone loves a pasta salad in the summer and this lemon basil pasta salad really hits the spot. It has super versatile toppings and a really great dressing.

What you’ll need for this Lemon Basil Pasta Salad
- Pot to cook pasta in
- Cutting board and knife
- Bowl to mix
- Storage container
Ingredient ideas for topping
In mine that you see on instagram and in the photo I used: rotisserie chicken, herby chickpeas from Trader Joe’s, marinated artichoke hearts, feta, kalamata olives, and cooked and cooled pasta. But the possibilities are endless. Whatever Mediterranean inspired ingredients you like would work in this lemon basil pasta salad.
Ingredients For Dressing:
- Olive oil
- White balsamic
- Fresh lemon juice
- Dijon mustard
- Honey
- Garlic cloves
- Shallot
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt
How to make this pasta salad
Step 1:
Get the water boiling for your pasta and cook it according to instructions on box or bag. Once it is cooked, allow to cool.
Step 2:
Add everything for the dressing to a blender or food processor and blitz until everything is fully incorporated and the dressing is smooth.
Step 3:
Top the cooled pasta with whatever toppings you want. Then top with the dressing and toss.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Ingredients
Dressing
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 small shallot
- 1 cup packed fresh basil leaves
- salt to taste
Pasta Salad
- 12 oz pasta cooked and cooled
- rotisserie chicken
- feta
- kalamata olives
- chickpeas
- marinated artichoke hearts
- whatever else your heart desires
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to instructions and set aside to cool
- Blend all ingredients for dressing in a blender or food processor until smooth
- Add all toppings to the cooled pasta. Toss in the dressing. Serve cool!
